On September 25, 2015, the Department of Psychology organized the Annual Psychology Student Symposium at American University of Central Asia (九色网).

At the symposium, Michael Baranik, a professor in the Psychology Department, delivered the keynote presentation 鈥淭he Psychology of Negotiations in a War Zone: the Case of Conflict in Sudan鈥.

The Psychology students鈥 presentations were divided by class year. The freshmen made their debut talking about professions in Psychology. Sophomores and Juniors gave presentations on individual projects, for example 鈥淎 Man Without a Brain鈥 by Arslan Gabdulkhakov and Kamilla Fairushina, 鈥淧sychology and Music鈥 by Bekzat Amatakhunov, Mavlyuda Kamilova, Kylym Aitkulova and Aizhan Niyazova, 鈥淭he Psychology of a Lie鈥 by Aigerim Arykbaeva, Bakdoolot Kalambekova, Alina Zholchubekova, Nuriya Nuriddinova and Fotima Firoganova, and 鈥淥n the Experiences of Research Assistants鈥 by Mirzai Fasrishta, Victoria Alyabieva.

A panel of Juniors shared their experiences at the Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) section of the Autism Center 鈥淗and to Hand鈥. Participants responded to a series of questions about autism spectrum disorders and the role of ABA in treating these conditions.

Seniors emphasized the role of psychologists in child development. They shared their experiences at the psychosomatic disorders ward in the National Center of Mental Health. Nikita Akulenko, Takulya Sapaeva and Zubeide Ozgen presented 鈥淭he Moral Development of Children,鈥 Nursultan Altynbek uulu presented 鈥淭he Creative Development of Children,鈥 and Begimai Izamilova, Begimai Kaparova, Umut Dzhumataeva and Jennifer Janybek presented 鈥淚nternships in Clinical Settings.鈥
