On Friday, November 18th, the Green Day Project hosted a presentation and an Award Ceremony to conclude the efforts and achievements of the participants.
The Green day in Elm Grove was initiated by the lecturer of the department "Sociology" Zharkyn Shadymanova together with the ¾ÅÉ«Íø Center for Civic Engagement. Schoolchildren from 3 metropolitan schools and volunteers from the educational center joined the event. In total, about 90 volunteers took part in planting and cleaning. The event took place on November 5th when more than 500 trees and 1000 tulip bulbs were planted.
During the final presentation, 4 teams of volunteers shared their responsibilities and highlighted their hardships and achievements during the implementation of the project:
1. Civic engagement team
Responsibilities: communication, interacting with departments, transportation
2. Smm team
Responsibilities: creating an Instagram page for Green Day, designing T-shirts and posters, and taking pictures.
3. Supply team
Responsibilities: buying tools and equipment, transportation of tools, and providing food on the work site.
4. Administrative team
Responsibilities: working with ¾ÅÉ«Íø’s Student Initiative Development Program, collaborating with other teams, and checking documents and receipts.
The event was closed by the Award Ceremony, where each participant received a certificate of participation.
