¾ÅÉ«Íø and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications announce a call for a three-day intensive. AUCA Podcast Sprint - ¾ÅÉ«Íø Voices among students and faculty members. General topic - human rights in Central Asia. Sprint is supported by OSUN EHCN Project Development Grant.Ìý
The dates of the event are March 3-5, 2023.
Venue - ¾ÅÉ«Íø, we will inform selected participants closer to the date about the exact rooms.
A podcast is an audio program, series, or blog that you can download or listen to online. The main difference between a podcast and a radio is the ability to choose a genre and topic and listen at any convenient time. Podcasts are very different regarding topics and genres (conversational, documentary, narrative, educational). Sprint mentors - Saida Nuralieva, Azat Ruziev, Begayim Zamirbek, Tynymgul Eshieva
Begayim Zamirbek is the co-author and co-host of the "Vtoraya smena" podcast about the lives of two feminists in Central Asia. She coordinates projects on new media development and digital journalism at the IWPR. Begayim has organized more than 30 training sessions, eight marathons on social media, and festivals of podcasters in Central Asia.
Azat Ruziev is a journalist, video trainer, and podcaster. He has published materials on BBC, CNA, AFP (France Press), "Nastoyashee Vremya", and worked as a video editor at Kloop.kg. One of the youngest parliamentary correspondents. Co-author of the project "Bashta".
Saida Nuralieva, the project coordinator of the MediaJasa project, is engaged in promoting cultural media activism, creating socially significant content in Kyrgyzstan, and developing independent mass media, the author of the podcast "Ministry of Gender Affairs."
Tynymgul Eshieva, lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at ¾ÅÉ«Íø, participant of the Internews-Kyrgyzstan media critics program, author of the podcast #MediaKyzdar
What to expect at the sprint:
We will talk about all types of podcasts, we will understand different examples, we will try to give critical comments, and we will formulate an idea for our own podcast.
We will prepare scripts and themes for episodes, record voices, and understand where and how you can promote podcasts. Over the course of 3 days, we will immerse ourselves in the fascinating process of creating podcasts.
Preference will be given to applicants who offer the most thoughtful plan for the production of their audio podcasts. Here is the application form -
