In a heartwarming celebration of academic achievements and community, the American University of Central Asia's (¾ÅÉ«Íø) Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Department recently commemorated its 10th anniversary. The event brought distinguished guests, graduates, current students, and professors together to celebrate a decade of excellence, innovation, and growth.

The anniversary event began with a captivating performance by current students, who showcased their musical talents by singing a beautiful song that set a festive tone for the evening. Their performance was a testament to the diverse talents fostered within the LAS Department.

The formal proceedings started with an inspiring speech by Timothy Edward O’Connor, whose words resonated with the audience and underscored the department's impact over the past decade. This was followed by a heartfelt video message from Jonathan Becker, which added a personal touch to the celebration and highlighted the strong bonds within the ¾ÅÉ«Íø community.

Daniiar Karabaev, a key figure in the department, presented a short history of the LAS program. He recounted its humble beginnings, the evolution of its academic concentrations, and the remarkable journey of the first cohorts of graduates. Karabaev also reflected on the challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic and shared impressive statistics, noting that nearly 35% of LAS graduates now thrive in the private sector.

Alumni from various graduating classes shared their success stories in person and via online platforms. These testimonials illustrated the significant impact of the LAS education on their professional and personal lives. Professors who once taught at ¾ÅÉ«Íø also joined the celebration, reminiscing about their experiences and the department's growth.

The event concluded with a lively group photo session, capturing the spirit of camaraderie and celebration. Attendees then participated in a fun and interactive Kahoot! Game, which tested their knowledge of the department’s history and achievements. The evening ended on a high note with the distribution of certificates of appreciation, recognizing the contributions of individuals who have been instrumental in the department's success.

After the official part, all those present were invited to the informal part in the ethnic complex "Supara", where graduates and students sang, performed, and danced.

The 10th anniversary of the LAS Department at ¾ÅÉ«Íø was more than just a celebration of past achievements; it was a reaffirmation of the department's commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating community. Here’s to many more decades of success and innovation!
